Shameless is going to face many tough challenges in season ten, all revolving around fan favorite Fiona Gallagher’s (Emmy Rossum) departure from the show.
It was a strange send-off as she just left and skipped her party. Although don’t fret, Showtime is ready to fill her big shoes, partially, by bringing back a fan favorite character.
There were many options to choose from. So many amazing characters have left the show, and fans have been wishing and hoping for their return. Jimmy Steve (Justin Chatwin) could have been a good choice, but what happened turned out to be a much better choice.
Showtime has appeared to make this decision after Cameron Monaghan declared back in January that he would be returning for the tenth season, which makes us assume that his character Ian Gallagher would be getting out of prison.
His cellmate and his current/former lover a Mickey Milkovich (Noel Fisher) is now returning to the series, as a regular, again too.
His previous departure happened in season seven with the heartbreaking Mexico border scene. Mickey has always been a huge fan favorite, he is known as the series most layered character.
Shameless announced Mickey’s return in a unique sort of way. They pretended that the Twitter account was hacked by a mega “Gallavich” fan. Fans were quick to screenshot and respond to this weirdness.
Before things were carried out too long, Shameless confirmed to TV line that the news was real and Mickey was coming back.
The Shameless Twitter account also posted a video of Mickey Milkovich (Noel Fisher) stating he was breaking out of prison. They captioned it, “This just in: Mickey is BACK on #Shameless season 10!!”
Cameron Monaghan seemed pretty excited as he tweeted,
“Glad we could finally say it, Welcome back to #Shameless, @noel_fisher. Missed you, my friend.”
