Pink has opened up about her past and her several miscarriages she had when she was just a young teenager.
Speaking to USA Today the “Truth about Love” singer/ songwriter revealed the meaning of her heart breaking lyrics off of her new album, “Hurts 2B Human”
Some of the lyrics being dark such as, “Since I was seventeen, I’ve always hated my body and it feels like my body hated me”
She claims that the reason she said that is because she has always had this tomboy, strong, gymnast body, but when she was seventeen she suffered through a miscarriage. She claimed that she planned on having the child.
“When that happens to a woman or a young girl, you feel like your body hates you and like your body is broken, and it’s not doing what it is supposed to do.”
Pink! confessed that she had several miscarriages since and believes that it is important to talk about what you’re ashamed of, who you really are, and all of the painful things. As well as using music as an outlet, she explains that she is able to cope with certain experiences and topics through therapy and humor.
“Although that’s uncomfortable and painful, it gives you something to work with, I think the reason I can go to such uncomfortable places and be so honest is because I have a really healthy sense of humor.” She stated, discussing what it is like seeing a therapist.
Happily Ever After
The thirty-nine-year-old singer has two healthy kids with her husband Carey Hart, Willow, age seven, and Jameson, age two. The couple has been together since 2001, they survived a break up for a year in 2003 and celebrated a marriage in 2006. The two separated for a second time in 2008 before rekindling and welcoming their daughter Willow in 2011.
No more sharing pictures
Last week on the Ellen show, Pink! announced that although she is proud of her kids, she will no longer be sharing photos of them on social media.
“I like to share my family. It’s my proudest moment in my whole life. I’m prouder of my kids than anything I’ve ever done,” she said with some emotion in her voice. “I won’t share them anymore. I won’t do it. I’m not posting pictures of them anymore.”
