It has been reported that the iconic Britney Spears has checked into a mental health facility.
It was announced that Britney recently entered a mental health facility. According to a news report from TMZ, which was confirmed by Variety, the health problems Britney’s father Jamie Spears has faced has taken a toll on the girl, who has been struggling with emotional distress.
Back in January Britney had postponed her Las Vegas residency after news of her father’s life threatening ordeal. The popular singer revealed in a statement previously two months earlier that Jamie’s colon had spontaneously ruptured. It resulted in a life threatening emergency surgery and a twenty eight day hospital stay.
“I don’t even know where to start with this, because this is so tough for me to say. I will not be performing my new show Domination. I’ve been looking forward to this show and seeing all of you this year, so doing this breaks my heart,”
She continued on with her statement, “However, it’s important to always put your family first… and that’s the decision I had to make. A couple of months ago, my father was hospitalized and almost died. We’re all so grateful that he came out of it alive, but he still has a long road ahead of him. I had to make the difficult decision to put my full focus and energy on my family at this time. I hope you all can understand.”
Britney also added in the statement, “I am dedicating my focus and energy to care for my family. We have a very special relationship and I want to be with my family at this time just like they have always been there for me. Thank you to all my fans for your continued love and support during this time. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and I look forward to the time when I can be back on stage performing for all of you.”
Although on Wednesday a source stated, “Her dad being sick has taken a toll on her. He nearly died and actually had another surgery a few weeks ago. He’s not doing well. They’re so close and it has been a lot. There is nothing dramatic going on with her — she just realized she needs to make sure to take time to care for herself.”
